FRESH HOPE SAMOA 2024

Fresh Hope Sunday!

The crowd eagerly awaited the electrifying event, filled with anticipation and excitement.
The atmosphere was ignited as cars entered the premises of the Government Building, arranged, and coordinated by none other than Sam Lei Sam Matafeo, Advisor and member of the Legends Elite Truck Club, assisted by Pastor David Fruean, Timothy Devoe and Kallan Tofilau, the car parade made an awesome entrance as our dynamic MCs – Asuelu Leasuasu and Jezlla Peteru introduced themselves, and engaged with the crowd while acknowledging our partners, collaborators and sponsors.

Pastor Morgan from Every Home for Christ led a heartfelt prayer, officially opening Fresh Hope Sunday as he committed the entire program to The Lord.
The SNF Praise and Worship team lifted our attention with heartfelt praises to God, setting the tone for an evening filled with reverence for God’s Presence. πŸ™Œ Our energetic MCs then took over, bringing fun giveaways and exciting challenges to the forefront.

An evening of worship and fun activities

Young children eagerly joined the action, racing forward for a chance to win prizes while our MCs engaged with everyone at every turn. A special moment took place when Sister Lole Usoalii Hickey, a regional artist and one of the leading voices in Samoa’s arts and entertainment sector, graced us with her hit song ‘Tu I luga’ or ‘Arise’, which was beautifully sung and backed up by the SNF Praise and Worship team 🎢
The atmosphere buzzed with laughter as different representatives from the various car clubs competed in a game of musical chairs, where one lucky winner snatched a $100 tala cash giveaway. Our evening was also enriched by the talents of our vendor boys also known as β€˜Business Men’, showcasing their group dance guided by Petross Saena. Other performances were presented by the Fresh Hope Mission Team hailing from the USA – Rosalind and Taylor.

A night of Redemption

Brother Art Martines emerged from a sinful past marked by a life of crime and addiction. Finding redemption in his prison cell through an encounter with Jesus,
He shared his powerful testimony through rap, delivering a compelling message urging young people who are on the path of self-destruction to stop playing games with God and surrender to His call and plan. πŸ™

A night ofΒ  “HOPE”

It was a powerful reminder of how God can take any life and transform it for his glory!
We were blessed by Kenaniah Praise, who has been living in Samoa for the last eight years, originally from Africa, Nigeria. Inspired by a conversation with Apostle Cruise Westerlund weeks prior, he penned a song called Hope under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit, with words that echo: Jesus be my hope! With original Afro beats, his performance amplified the atmosphere of hope as he sang and danced in his own African style giving glory to God🎢

A night of inspiration

The main course of the event was Pastor Brian Warth’s inspiring message, in which he emphasized his heart to reintroduce us to Jesus as depicted in the Bible, rather than the Jesus often shaped by theological and cultural interpretations. His words hinted at potential misconceptions regarding the personality of Jesus, contrasting cultural perceptions with the scriptural depiction. Pastor Brian was sucked into the gang violence of Los Angeles. His older brother was shot dead at age 15. Brian was gunned down by a rival gang at age 14. Then at 16, Brian was arrested for murder and sentenced to life in prison where he briefly shared his testimony of surrendering his life to Jesus while in prison. He was crushed by hopelessness until that pivotal moment. After 16 years, God touched then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to free Brian. Today, Brian is a pastor, author of “Young Man Arise!” and host of Fresh Hope Radio on Los Angeles’ KKLA 99.5FM. His message of fresh hope impacts churches and conferences nationwide. During Fresh Hope Sunday he relayed his gladness for being in Samoa and for being able to bless and share God’s Word with everyone.
His message on hope and redemption resonated deeply with the audience as he shared his personal testimony of his life while imprisoned due to gang-related violence. His words stirred hearts, prompting a collective resolve to make a serious commitment to run after Jesus – it was powerful!

A night of new beginnings

The Supernatural Fellowship Worship team ushered in prophetic and inspirational majestic worship, led by Pastor Marissa Westerlund, hearts were moved, and many responded to the call by walking up to the altar. It was a profound moment, where seeds of the Gospel, seeds of eternity were firmly planted in the hearts of those present, marking a night of fresh hope for many who were present.
Fresh Hope Sunday wasn’t just a regular event; it was a declaration of God’s mercy and plan for anyone willing to surrender his or her life to Christ. The team wasn’t pushing people to join a specific church, but they urged everyone to commit sincerely to Jesus, no matter where they worship. The MCs recommended Kingdom Makers Samoa , shepherd by Pastor David Fruean under the leadership of Pastors Jerry and Alexia Fruean, Kingdom Makers is an evangelical faith-based church founded in Australia which now has a Samoan branch that provides a welcoming environment for those wanting a new life with Christ and seeking spiritual growth and genuine acceptance. Services are held every Sunday at 1:30pm at the SNF Building in Lotopa, located behind SCB.
Additionally, SNF is another avenue for spiritual growth, as the ministry in particular is comprised of young people from different denominational backgrounds who are on FIRE for Jesus.
As the event wrapped up, the MCs thanked everyone for coming and acknowledged the partners, collaborators, and sponsors once again who all made Fresh Hope Sunday possible through their contributions.
Psalm 147:11: The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
