An unprecedented crisis demands an unprecedented praise – Apostle Cruise Westerlund
The electrifying “Eddie James” concert was unforgettable for many that were present on Friday night at the Tuanaimato Gym 1. The anointed event was filled with powerful moments, intimate times of worship and breakouts of praise-dance as Eddie James resounded God’s Praise throughout the night. The crowd interacted as they heard some of Eddie’s greatest hits during the Samoa Awakening Concert.
Many described it as one of the best concerts that they’ve ever been to – the night started with the prayer intercessors led by Sanita Ioapo followed by the official opening of the event by Apostle Cruise Westerlund who introduced the Samoa Awakening Band which were made up of our very own worship artists.
We were blessed to have different members of the band from different backgrounds and denominations come together for this night. The band was led by our very own Worship leader Pastor Marissa Westerlund who is co-director with Apostle Cruise Westerlund of Supernatural Fellowship Ministry. On the team we have Marjourie and Kathline Meredith who are Marissa’s younger sisters that sang beautifully during the night, followed by strong vocalists; Neresi Moemoe and Romeo Sabbath who had some amazing solo moments as they released their worship to God. We had a special artist from American Samoa : Brother ‘Elijah Tavai’ who was in his mother’s womb with Heaven’s mandate. He was born with a purpose to worship God and lead people to Christ.
Instrumentalist, brother Emmanuel Lemoa coordinated the band with passion as he synchronized the team.Shammah Siamomua was outstanding on the drums, Pastor Watti had his gifting come out through the bass guitar and of course our Samoan Guitarist – Tyler Kwan with his unique riffs that electrified the atmosphere.
Eddie James lit the place up with his Praise songs that got the crowd on fire as they responded by singing, jumping, dancing and lifting their hands up to God. It was a special moment as the people were releasing songs of breakthrough, healing and restoration.
The Samoa Awakening band then joined Eddie as they prophetically sang these lyrics over the people as a declaration to the nation of Samoa…”The Name of Jesus is lifted high”…”Revival fire is coming down”…”Our sons and daughters shall be saved”.
The transitional song was “The House of Prayer” and It is a song that was sung with the intention to keep our fire burning so that the fire on our altars may never burn out. The team synchronized with Eddie James so well although they only rehearsed the night before the concert. The climax of the night kept getting better and better as time unfolded and there was never a dull moment. The crowd stayed standing in excitement for 3 hours straight and embraced every second.
During the Concert, Eddie James said, “I’m so blessed to be here in Samoa! I believe that tonight the Lord is going to release a new fire over your land, a new fire over your people, He is releasing a healing over your land!” The guest speaker for the night who a short and powerful word was non other than Pasto Apenisa Ralulu from Fiji. During his time on stage he said, “This is a new dawn, this is a new day. The old has gone and the new is here to stay. Samoa you mourned the deaths of those who were lost with the measles epidemic, but I’m here to say rejoice! because a wave of healing is coming over your land. The Lord inhabits the praises of his people, and here we are tonight to praise God! Samoa this is a new season! Arise! Awake! Stand Up!”
We received reports of people falling without hands laid upon them in different areas, the thick atmosphere of what is called the ‘Shekinah Glory” permeated the sports facility. From the General crowd all the way to the VIP lounge, filled with the tangible presence of God and people were getting healed, delivered and set free. Some wept as they encountered the Holy Spirit as Apostle Cruise was led to release the sound that brought about the divine habitation of Heaven to the earth.
IT WAS INDEED AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT! IT WAS ELECTRIFYING! IT WAS FUN! IT WAS REAL AND WE LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT.
The ‘Samoa Awakening’ concert helped inspire a new passion for Jesus, it birthed many sons and daughters into the kingdom. A passion to love His Word and to follow Him wholeheartedly. Many accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior that night.
The event was birthed through a vision that Apostle Cruise Westerlund had after he first saw Eddie James perform at by the Azusa Now Conference in Los Angeles in 2016.
He said, “I had traveled to the US for the Conference with a team of our Samoan people. As we sat at the Conference, we were blessed to see so many anointed men and women of God- but we were falling asleep. It wasn’t until Eddie James came on-stage and started singing ‘The Name of Jesus’ that we were awoken! It was at that moment that I envisioned having Eddie James sing that same song and ‘House of prayer’ right here in Samoa, the Lord put it on my heart that those are the prophetic songs that need to be released over the nation of Samoa.”
“We saw Eddie again when we went to Israel for the Feast of The Tabernacles in 2017. And again, in Israel in 2019. It was a blessing to have him come to Samoa for this event! The name Samoa Awakening was birthed through a time of prayer- the Lord put it on the heart of one of our intercessors!”
The Concert was concluded with Samoa’s National Anthem – a time of remembrance of those we lost through the measles epidemic, but an anthem of strength for our nation to rise up, to stand up amidst the storm- Samoa Tula’i!
Before departing Faleolo airport for Brisbane, Eddie said, “Samoa I love you! I love your land, and your people. I will be back! May you walk out the fullness of the plan that the Lord has for you, in the fullness of his JOY! “
